Cayuga Lake played host to the Rochester Bassmasters Angler Of the Year event #3 on July 7th, 2019. It was quite the change in venue, and style of fishing from the first two events on Lake Erie. The New York finger lake gave up almost 450 pounds of fish on the day to the field, with the average bag weighing just over 11 pounds. Despite the fact that there were no bag brought to the scale tipping the 20 pound mark, the weights were still impressive per the usual.

Taking the top spot was Jim Bianchi, who was able to put together a 5 fish limit worth 19.31 pounds, which was over a pound and a half heavier than 2nd place, a relatively large margin amongst this group of anglers. Second to Jim Bianchi was Will Rogers with an impressive weight of 17.74. This was Will’s third top three finish, in 3 events, he is certainly an early favorite for Angler Of the Year. Rounding out the top three was Chris O’Brien. Chris brought a five fish limit to the scales weighing 17.66 pounds, which was good enough for his second top three finish of the year after three events. Lunker honors went to Kyle Sweers with an impressive 6.70 Cayuga Lake largemouth bass.

As usual, congratulations to Tige Noni and the rest of the tournament committee for yet another smooth and successful event.
